PLURAL+ Moldova 2015 Gala

On 18th of December, on the occasion of celebrating the International Migrants Day, the 7th annual Gala of the video and photo contest PLURAL+ Moldova 2015 Gala was organised at Meteora Club. The contest was launched earlier in September by IOM, Mission to Moldova and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (AoC) and implemented in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Moldova, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, United Nations Organization and OWH Studio.

This year were received 20 videos and 40 photos from 36 participants, of which 10 have been selected by a distinguished jury and awarded with special prizes. Here are the winners:

Video section

1st Place: Theodor Liviu Cemîrtan and the filmmaking team of ”Modern Shakespeare” 

2nd Place: Călin Andrieși and the filmmaking team of ”Half”

3rd Place: Iulian Răileanu and the filmmaking team of ”Migraation in a Child’s Vision” 

Special Mention for Diversity: Natașa Bujor and the filmmaking team of ”Accept people, not masks”

Special Mention for Promoting the Subject of Children with Parents Abroad in the Local Audiovisual: Olga Nestor and the filmmaking team of ”The best gift ever”

Photo section

1st Place: Elena Doni for the photos ”Parallel lives” și ”Waiting erased all the color” 

2nd Place: Victor Moisei for the photo ”A boy’s pain when parting”   

3rd Place: Mihai Janu for the photo ”Where are you mother?”  

Special Mention for Originality: Victor Toma for the photo ”Elderly Moldova”  

Special mention for Originality and Affection: Elena Casapciuc for the photo ”My puppy is always by me side”

The jury selected the winners on the basis of a number of criteria such as the refelction of the subject of Migration and Diversity as well as other close connected subjects as Social Inclusion and Human Rights and the refelction of the positive aspects of the migration phenomenon, which becomes more visible with each year in the constestants’ art work.

The contest was organized with the support of Permament Secretariat of the National Committee for Combating Traffikcing in Human Beings of the Republic of Moldova, Ministry of Labor, Family and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova, Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova, Dispora Relations Bureau, Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Moldova and National Youth Councill of Moldova and its media partners Realitatea TV, Agora, Adevărul, Ziarul de Gardă, Media Youth centre ”Vocea tinerilor” and #Diez.md.

The contest was implemented with the financial support of Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the frameworks of the “Rescue, return, rehabilitation and reintegration of victims and potential victims of trafficking in persons in Moldova” project.
