Background

Organizational Setting

FAO in partnership with the Government of Moldova is implementing the technical assistance project “Strengthening the capacity of smallholders in berry production”. The main objective of the project is to strengthen the capacity of smallholders in berry production in Moldova using full range of modern technologies on berry production.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Provide support to FAO-Moldova in project implementation to ensure its results are in accordance with the Project Document and the rules and procedures established by FAO
  • Assist the International Consultant in the conducting of market and field surveys, and compilation information for market and value chain study, and relevant data relevant analysis;
  • Facilitate trainings in berry fruits marketing, trade and value chain; prepare a brief report summarizing findings, conclusions and recommendations.
  • Co-ordinate and make logistic arrangements for the project stakeholder forum, trainings and terminal workshop.
  • Assist with the review of project technical manual and materials for publications;
  • Prepare and submit monthly progress reports to FAO;
  • Perform any other duties deemed necessary for the successful execution of the project.
