Background

Organizational Setting

As a result of COVID-19 outbreak in Moldova and its evolving, negative effects on agriculture value chains, FAO is providing support to the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment in coordinating the response measures of the development partners in the agriculture and food sector and mobilization of additional resources. Consultant will support both the Ministry and the FAO country office in responding to COVID-19 impact on Moldovan agriculture and in particular to agri-food promotion and trade.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Prepare required analysis in cooperation with the consultant on policy analysis and monitoring to be shared with the development partners and other stakeholders;
  • Support the MoARDE and FAO country office in mobilizing additional resources and coordination of the ongoing international projects in the area of agriculture, food systems and rural development;
    • Preparation of a country donor mapping in the context of the country donor response to COVID 19;
    • Identification of donor funding opportunities and suggested resource mobilization actions in support to the agriculture sector; (organization of bilateral meetings, preparation of concept notes, etc.)
    • In close consultation with the Head of the FAO country office, facilitation of the identified resource mobilization opportunities;
