In the framework of TCP/MOL/3703, under the technical supervision of the Lead Technical officer and in cooperation with FAO office in Moldova the National Consultant in Agriculture Statistics will be responsible to undertake the following tasks:

• Provide overall technical support to the National Bureau of Statistics and the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment in the area of collection and processing the agriculture statistical data;
• Identify data needs and gaps of the national institutions in the area of agriculture statistics;
• Identify projects funded by development partners in the field of statistics and propose eventual synergies;
• Provide support on required activities, documents and analysis, as well as contribute to planned workshops within the project;
• Provide assistance to FAO Technical Officers and International Consultants as required, including support in organization of his/her field and/or country missions, including follow up with the technical recommendations;
• Assist the NPC in regular monitoring of project implementation activities and evaluation of the project;
• Prepare progress reports on the project activities and outputs;

Perform any other duties deemed necessary for the successful execution of the project.
