Background

UNICEF Moldova is looking for a Specialist in Mother and Child Health (full time)

Objective: to provide technical support in the area of mother and child health, with particular focus on the perinatal care, aimed at improving the quality of provided care services for mothers and children at both banks of Nistru River.

 The specialist will:

  • Provide assistance to UNICEF and partners to improve the quality of services within Mother and Child care at ante- and postnatal care, including the Transnistria region, with a special focus on home visiting practice.
  • Provide assistance to UNICEF and partners to improve breastfeeding knowledge and practice among health care professionals and community through capacity building activities for primary health care professionals.
  • Provide assistance to UNICEF and partners to strengthen comprehensive immunization services, including in the Transnistria region, through capacity building activities for health professionals in effective vaccine management.
  • Support UNICEF in strengthening the evidence base on providing Mother and Child Healthcare at ante- and postnatal level, to support development of the national guidelines and protocols in this area.
  • Document good practices and support monitoring and evaluation of primary health care providers in implementation of the childcare standards.
