In the framework of the MDG process in the country, the United Nations in Moldova launched in 2003 an advocacy and awareness campaign on MDGs aimed at:
- Advocating for the adjustment of the national development & poverty reduction strategies according to the MDGs principles;
- Ensuring the linkages between the economic and social aspects within the national and local agendas;
- Enhancing national ownership over the MDG process in Moldova; and
- Increasing understanding of the relationships between the UN programme in Moldova and MDGs.
